At YES Community Counseling Center, we are committed to building healthier, stronger communities by providing comprehensive prevention services. Our programs and coalitions use a coordinated approach to address substance use, mental health challenges, and related high-risk behaviors, empowering individuals, families and communities through universal, selective and indicated strategies.
Prevention Programs
Our programs promote health and wellness across all ages and backgrounds:

School-Based Education: Classroom lessons on substance use prevention, emotional regulation, mental health awareness, healthy decision making, and coping skills

Community Presentations & Workshops: Seminars for parents, caregivers, and community members on prevention substance use and supporting mental health.

Youth Leadership Initiatives: Opportunities for young people to engage in prevention, mental health advocacy, and peer leadership roles.

Peer Support & Intervention: Intervention services services for youth who show signs of substance use, anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges.
These programs foster resilience, reduce risk factors, and strengthen protective factors within school and communities.

Community Coalitions & Projects
Massapequa Takes Action Coalition (MTAC)
MTAC brings together schools, parents, businesses, and law enforcement to reduce underage drinking and substance use while promoting mental wellness.

Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC)
LCAC engages the Levittown community to reduce substance misuse, address mental health stigma, and promote wellness through education and advocacy.

Hispanic Alliance for Prevention Coalition (HAP)
HAP focuses on reducing youth substance use, improving mental health outcomes, and empowering youth leadership in Hicksville and the surrounding communities.

Bridges provides comprehensive strength based prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services, ensuring accessibility to critical services through our grant partners. Training and services are provided to assist schools, colleges, and other organizations to develop a supportive environment for young adults. BRIDGES seeks to engage, support and empower young adults and their families, identify needs, overcome barriers to get help, and to mobilize community recovery support services.
